The Position: We are hiring an experienced Audit Director to lead complex public company audit engagements and serve as a key leader within our assurance practice. This role is ideal for a technically strong CPA with deep PCAOB and SEC experience who enjoys mentoring teams, managing client relationships, and helping grow a high-performing audit practice.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and oversee PCAOB and SEC audit engagements from planning through final issuance
- Review audit workpapers, financial statements, and SEC filings including 10-Ks and 10-Qs
- Ensure compliance with PCAOB standards, U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal control requirements
- Serve as the primary point of contact for public company audit clients
- Provide technical guidance on complex accounting and auditing matters
- Mentor, develop, and lead audit managers, seniors, and staff
- Manage engagement budgets, timing, deliverables, and overall client satisfaction
- Support practice growth through client relationship development and business development efforts
What You Need (Qualifications)
- Active CPA license required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s preferred
- 10+ years of public accounting experience
- Significant PCAOB audit and SEC client experience required
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX/internal controls
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing audit teams
- Strong client-facing communication and executive presence
- Demonstrated business development strength and ability to grow client relationships and network opportunities
