The Position: We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support manufacturing operations within a high-volume production environment focused on cabinetry and related product lines. This role will work closely with engineering, production, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams to improve equipment performance, support process optimization, and help drive efficient, safe, and reliable manufacturing outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on problem-solving and wants to contribute to both day-to-day operations and longer-term improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Support mechanical engineering initiatives across manufacturing and production operations
- Evaluate equipment, tooling, and production systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and output
- Partner with production, maintenance, and quality teams to troubleshoot mechanical and process issues
- Assist with the design, modification, and implementation of manufacturing equipment and fixtures
- Develop and improve mechanical systems that support high-volume cabinet production
- Participate in process improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, cost, and throughput
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for equipment and system changes
- Help manage capital improvement and equipment upgrade projects from planning through execution
- Monitor performance metrics and recommend practical engineering solutions
- Support preventative maintenance strategies and long-term equipment optimization
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline
- 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting industrial equipment, machinery, or automated production systems
- Exposure to woodworking, cabinetry, millwork, or other product manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong understanding of mechanical design, troubleshooting, and process improvement
- Proficiency with CAD software and standard engineering documentation tools
- Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills
