The Position: We are seeking an accomplished Tax Partner – Partnerships & Pass-Through Entities to lead and expand one of our fastest-growing private business tax practices in Lehi, Utah.
This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial tax leader who wants to build and lead a team, serve a sophisticated portfolio of privately held businesses, and help shape the long-term growth of a nationally respected advisory practice. You'll work closely with executive leadership to expand an already established client base while advising partnerships, LLCs, S-Corporations, investment partnerships, family-owned businesses, and multi-entity organizations on complex tax planning and business advisory matters. Whether you're an existing Partner or a Senior Tax Leader ready to step into partnership, this role provides the platform, support, and flexibility to build a lasting legacy.
What You'll Do:
- Lead complex tax planning, consulting, and compliance engagements for partnerships, LLCs, S-Corporations, multi-entity organizations, and closely held businesses.
- Serve as a strategic advisor on entity structuring, business succession, ownership transitions, mergers and acquisitions, and tax-efficient planning strategies.
- Build and lead a high-performing team of Tax Managers, Seniors, and Staff professionals.
- Expand and strengthen an established private business tax practice while developing new client relationships.
- Review complex partnership, pass-through, corporate, and individual tax returns.
- Advise clients on federal, state, and multi-state tax matters impacting privately held businesses and ownership groups.
- Develop strong relationships with business owners, attorneys, bankers, wealth advisors, and referral partners.
- Lead business development initiatives through networking, referrals, community involvement, and strategic growth planning.
- Mentor future firm leaders while creating a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
- Partner with executive leadership on recruiting, succession planning, operational strategy, and long-term practice expansion.
- Ensure exceptional client service, technical excellence, and quality across all engagements.
Qualifications
Required
- Active CPA license required.
- 12+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience.
- Extensive expertise in partnership taxation, pass-through entities, LLCs, S-Corporations, and closely held businesses.
- Strong technical knowledge of entity structuring, business tax planning, and multi-state taxation.
- Proven experience leading complex client engagements and managing high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated business development success and relationship-building abilities.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and executive-level client management skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for practice growth and team development.
Preferred
- Existing client relationships or a proven business development network.
- Master's in Taxation (MST), JD, or LLM in Taxation.
- Experience leading a private business, pass-through, or partnership tax practice.
- Experience working within a nationally recognized public accounting or advisory firm.
- Interest in long-term equity partnership and executive leadership.
