Long Beach, CA| Full-Time | Hybrid Schedule (2 Days In-Office / 3 Days Remote)

The Position: We are seeking an experienced Job Captain / Senior Job Captain to join our growing retail architecture team in Long Beach, CA. This role plays a critical part in delivering national retail rollout and store planning programs, supporting Project Managers and design teams with technical documentation, coordination, and production leadership across multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing prototype-driven projects and has strong experience working with retail brands, store rollout programs, and high-volume project delivery.
What You’ll Do
- Lead production of construction documents for retail rollout and prototype programs.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, designers, consultants, and internal teams throughout project phases.
- Support multi-site retail projects from design development through construction documentation.
- Ensure drawings meet client standards, brand guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with permitting packages, agency coordination, and jurisdictional requirements across multiple markets.
- Manage project documentation, drawing coordination, and quality control reviews.
- Coordinate RFIs, submittals, and other construction administration tasks.
- Work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure consistent execution of rollout programs.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative studio environment.
What You Need (Qualifications)
- 5–10+ years of experience in architecture or architectural production roles.
- Strong experience in retail, store planning, or national rollout programs.
- Proven ability to produce and coordinate construction documentation sets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field preferred.
- Architectural licensure in progress or interest in pursuing licensure is a plus.
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD required.
- Strong understanding of building codes, permitting processes, and construction documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced rollout environment.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with consultants and internal teams.
